Calibre 550 repair & servicing.
The center wheel needs to be removed for cleaning, but can only be removed after both stators have been removed, these are fixed when manufactured. One is adjustable with eccentirc screw, the other is "fixed", but due to clearances there is some movement available. I recommend replacing stators while mainplate is in cleaning machine to try to keep correct position, otherwise watch may not run when reassembled.
When the crown is pulled out to time setting position, a spring loaded lever presses against the triangular portion of the rotor, aligning the seconds hand to an even numbered second, and blocking the train.
At this time the reset switch, (normally closed to the negative,) should spring from one pole to other shorting the circuit to the positive ground. The springs don't seem to achieve this function, and the motor keeps trying to impulse with the train blocked, the seconds hand twitches lightly.
Fibreglass board, signed "Ricoh 02"
8 pin LSI IC, probably made by Hughes Semiconductor or AMI
Signed RQ2 followed by date code?
The six capacitor array allows for timing adjustment, starting furthest from crown 0.5 1 2 3 5 10 pF [picoFarads], with a 0.6mm screw and washer.
Decreasing capacitance watch gains. Increasing capacitance watch loses.
