-Some are marked "Three 3 Adj." ([[570017B]])
-Some even have a movement serial number ([[570001]])
-Battery 303
-Consumption 15 or 3 micro amps
-Coil resistance 2.8KOhms
-Some have a square to adjust rate & some a screwdriver slot
-Some have a shock proof setting on the rotor pivot
-Some have a large oval quartz can, some have a large cylinder
-Some have a more red coloured insulation on the coil

From [[thewatchforum.co.uk:https://thewatchforum.co.uk/index.php?/topic/95876-japanese-giant-goes-missing-ricoh-watches]]

"The first volume movement was the cal 570, a conventional looking quartz movement, well executed and rather similar to its contemporary Orient cal52950 - perhaps a sign of cooperation or plagiarism between the two companies. Watches with this movement date from the start of 1974 to perhaps 1976."

From Electrifying the Wristwatch "The Riquartz 570 caliber with 10 jewels and day/
date display was introduced in 1973; the dimensions were 27.0 mm x 5.50 mm. European customers were Nivada in Switzerland and Dugena in Germany."

*Example serial numbers [#a8d6ed16]
570 movement serial numbers seem to be extremely rare.

-Most movements do not have a serial number

-[[570001 S>570001]] Feb 1976

*CMOS IC [#h1f30b25]
The [[CMOS>CMOS IC]] integrated circuit is made by RCA in America and is stamped 81473 followed by a date code. RCA were the first "outsiders" to make an IC for a quartz watch, they were followed by Motorola in early 1972. If you couldn't make your own IC, like Seiko did, an enormous undertaking, then you had to buy them in.

The date code is four digits, first pair are the year, second pair are the week, for example 7324 is 24th week of 1973.

-Earliest recorded IC marked 7324 for 24th week 1973.
-Latest recorded IC is marked 5 16 for 16th week 1975.

**Hitachi IC discovered [#u7f8d33c]
A circuit has come to light with a different IC, marked with Hitachi style date code 5L for Nov 1975, and 4M for Dec 1974.

*Three 3 Adjustments [#o8b60934]
Some movements are marked Three 3 Adjustments, presumably position, temperature & ?
-[[570001]]
-[[570011]]
-[[570017B]]

*Shock proof jewel [#ud48431b]
Earliest movements feature the same shock setting on the rotor jewel as the [[550]] with a rotating spring (although the 550 only had one on the lower pivot, the 570 has one on both pivots). Then they moved to a lift up design. Late movements had fixed cap jewels.

*Circuit variation [#ff1a2276]
The early circuit. The late circuit.

*Circuit date code? [#da42a4e0]
The white ceramic circuit often has a code printed on it, possibly a date code.

*570A [#hc560bbe]
Same basic design, with a few construction differences
-Rotor now cylindrical instead of vaned, with circular instead of triangular stop piece, meaning second hand will stop on any second instead of even seconds
-Fixed cap jewels instead of shockproof
-Quartz crystal attached to wheel bridge, oval, cylinder or small cylinder
-Two piece wheel bridge
-Seconds jumper jewel attached differently
-Jeweled reset lever screwed down

*571 & 572 [#m2dcd53a]
-Consumption 11 or 3 micro amps
